Check-X Logo Business and IT Service Management Assessment Service

Know where you are, know where you are going

IT organisations face increasing challenges in striving to deliver quality services against faster changing business requirements and growing demands.  They must do this with reduced resources, staff numbers and budgets while also ensuring compliance with increasing regulatory demands such as Sarbanes-Oxley and the FSA.

Check-X is an essential tool to enable you to bridge the gap between the current capability of your IT operation and its true potential; as well as ensure full alignment between the business and IT.

Check-X GraphicCheck-X is a flexible, modular, assessment tool that goes beyond the scope of many assessments by providing both business and IT perspectives of process, goal, risk and service capability and maturity.

Check-X is an ISO/IEC 15504 compliant assessment framework of IT based on the COBIT®, ITIL® and ISO/IEC 20000 process frameworks.  It can be the starting point of an improvement project; it enables benchmarking against other organisations and can be a valuable tool for the evaluation and selection of service providers.

Based on industry best practices and standards

The Check-X framework is based on the best and most useful components of a number of models and standards.  It follows the concepts of process assessment as described in ISO/IEC 15504.  It applies them to the IT Governance and IT Service Management domains, principally for the processes proposed in COBIT® 4.1, ISO/IEC 20000, ITIL® v3 and 2011.  It also incorporates the processes within ISO/IEC 27000, 27002, 38500 and the SEI CMMI.

As well as providing a comprehensive review, this provides the unique ability to facilitate assessments, and present findings in a generic or industry standard format.

CheckOne

CheckOne is a high-level assessment typically used to gain a quick understanding of where the organisation is.  There are two types of CheckOne assessment:

IT CheckOne

An IT CheckOne assessment is performed from an IT perspective.  It performs a process and maturity assessment of the IT processes against a choice of comprehensive reference models including COBIT®, ITIL® and ISO/IEC 20000.  This is supplemented with a review and assessment of the IT goals and risks which are mapped to the processes to determine capability and alignment.

IT CheckOne
Business CheckOne

A Business CheckOne assessment is performed from a business perspective.  Through executive and end-user evaluation of the services and support provided by IT, this assessment determines how well IT processes and services meet business goals and needs.

This essential perspective of IT compliments an IT CheckOne assessment and enables the gap between the business and IT perspectives to be understood.

What is delivered?

A comprehensive analysis of the assessment results is conducted to determine the gaps and provide extensive recommendations and an improvement plan.  All this is presented to you in clear, concise graphical and textual presentations and reports.

Assessments can be performed against different frameworks such as COBIT®, ITIL® and ISO/IEC 20000.

Scoring against one framework automatically derives scores in another.

Components and frameworks are mapped and correlated with each other to provide multi-dimensional analysis and reporting.

Radar charts, histograms, bar charts, heat maps and RAG charts are just some of the presentation tools that help to communicate the results clearly and intuitively.
