Rapid
Project Plan (RPP) is a highly
focused Project Management workshop that leverages the vast knowledgebase of
CEC’s Industry Best Practice to help organisations accelerate the
development of realistic project and programme plans including tasks,
resources, estimates, risk identification and major deliverables. RPP
ensures that the team members and key stakeholders share a common and clear
understanding of their mission, roles, risks and steps defined in their
plans. Participants understand the basics of Project Management and how its
principles are applied to their specific project. The flexible nature of the
workshop makes it ideal at project start-up, at the start of a new
development phase, or when a project needs to be rescued.
Overview
Rapid Project Plan workshops are highly interactive sessions - bringing the project team and stakeholders together to resolve ambiguities and achieve the following:

Agree on the scope, deliverables and high level requirements for the project
- Develop a high level plan for the project with a detailed plan for the next phase
- Agree on the roles and responsibilities
- Agree on an initial estimation of effort for the project and tasks - set realistic completion dates
- Establish a Communications and Risk Management Plan for the Project.

Focused workshop combines Class, Training and Joint Project Planning techniques to get agreement on Scope, Requirements, Risks, Roles & Responsibility, and the Project Plan.
- Quick development of Project WBS is made possible by using standard processes from CEC's methods library.
- Estimation metrics and tools from CEC help establish the baseline estimates
- All Problems & Issues are recorded and assigned with a follow-up action plan.

Workshop Details
RPP Workshop is 5 days long and has between 5 and 20 Project members:
Day 1: Preparation: CEC Facilitator and Project Owner/ Core team - Project background, characteristics, success factors, stakeholders' roles, goals. Establish workshop decision rules and expectation levels.
Days 2-3: Present Project Management overview and Principles. Develop scope, requirements, risk and major deliverables. Develop Project Plan and high-level estimates
Day 4: Agree and assign roles and responsibilities for tasks and issues. Optimise plan and refine major deliverables.
Day 5: Generate your Project's knowledgebase and Plans from Synergy in MS Word, MS Project and NetSynergy. Conduct key role-playing exercises to simulate actual project scenarios. Project Kick-off.
